What a day it was when the Trustees of the pension & welfare fund moved and approved to make major changes to the fund that set created the 401k, that doubled the pension for the actives, that increases the Retirees pension for the first tie in 18 years! we were very proud of that accomplishment and posed for a picture to commemorate that faithful day. we knew that we were changing lives in a major way for some time to come. I bet the Spencer's did not take a picture when they took your 401k away...
Dredging, warehouse development, highway improvement is all apart of retrofitting the infrastructure for the benefit of the port and the ILA. We are at the door of this exciting growth. It is our time but it will take organization and a 200% effort to get the Local positioned to meet the challenge:

After all the work that has occurred so far, we are far from any finish line. The Local will always be evolving and requires proactive thinking to keep the Local ahead of the curve. Here are some of the tasks on the table for the Local going forward:
